Christian Faith
We are Orthodox Christians, which, from our perspective, is the original Christian Church, having shared a common history with the Roman Catholic Church until the mid-eleventh century. Our presence in America is largely in the form of immigrant Churches, such as the Russian Orthodox, Antiochian Orthodox, or in our case, Greek Orthodox parishes, but as the Church has grown in America, so has our demographics: A large percentage of Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Scottsdale is not of Greek heritage, and our Sunday Divine Liturgy is virtually all in English. Greek Culture
We are very proud of our culture! Greece has been called the "Cradle of Western Civilization" because much of the western world's philosophy and art was born in ancient Greece.
